Alan Blackburn is a farm management consultant with clients principally in southwest Victoria, the Central District and Wimmera. Alan’s consulting practice is focussed on assisting clients with making key management decisions including succession planning, farm business planning, applying for loans and reducing finance costs, and enterprise choices.
Around 50% of Alan’s client work involves succession planning in one form or another. This includes;
- Helping clients realise the potential of their farm business and determining the ability of their farm to meet retirement, family income and business development goals.
- Facilitating family meetings to help family members arrive at succession plans.
- Where disputes exist, providing a mediation service to clients.
- In some cases, working with clients who are involved in litigation and whom seek assistance with resolving succession issues.
In addition to his qualifications in Agriculture and Business Management, Alan is a trained facilitator and a qualified mediator. He is also co-author of the book “Financing Your Farm”. |
